How RentRanks handles your data
This page explains what we keep, why, for how long, and how you reach us. We try to keep it short enough to read.
Who we are
RentRanks operates this site and the marketplace behind it. When we say we, we mean the operator of rentranks.com.
Contact is simple. Contact is by account. Sign in at the login page and use the account area for any privacy request. We do not publish a separate e-mail address on this site.
What we collect
Account data: the sign-in identity you use, plus the name and billing details you enter when you top up your balance or request an invoice.
Contact is by account. Sign in at the login page and use the account area for any privacy request, which is the one channel we monitor for such matters. We do not publish a separate e-mail address on this site.
Technical data: your IP address, browser type, pages requested and time. Servers record this to keep the site working and to spot abuse.
We do not collect more than the service needs.
Why we use it
To run the service
Orders, balance and invoices cannot work without the data in them.
To keep it safe
Logs help us find fraud, scraping and failed payments.
To improve the pages
Aggregate visit counts show which guides help and which do not.
Who sees it
Publishers receive the target URL, keyword and article text needed to place your link. Payment and hosting providers process data on our behalf.
We do not sell personal data.
If law requires it, we may share records with an authority. We will limit this to what is requested.
How long we keep it
Retention varies. Order and invoice records are kept as long as accounting rules require. Server logs are kept for a shorter period. When you ask us to close an account, we delete or anonymise what we are not obliged to keep.
Cookies are used to keep you signed in and to remember small preferences. You can block them in your browser, but sign-in may then fail.
Your choices
Your rights are real. You may ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion. Make the request from your account via the login page. Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR may give further rights.
We may update this page. The date at the top shows the latest change, and material changes will be flagged in the dashboard.
Children and security
The service is for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and if we learn of it we remove it.
We protect data with access controls and encrypted connections. No system is perfectly safe, and we cannot promise otherwise. If something goes wrong with your data, we will tell you through the dashboard as soon as we reasonably can and say what we know.
Short, direct. That is our aim.
